Rooted in the North. Built for the Lake.
Established in 2002, Rednex Rebellion was born out of a deep passion for local pride, outdoor lifestyle, and the unmistakable culture of Lake of the Woods, Kenora, and Northwestern Ontario.
What started as a grassroots Canadian apparel brand inspired by rugged lake life, boat days, and north-country traditions has grown into a staple for locals, cottagers, and visitors who call this region home.
BEHIND THE BRAND
meet ryan forbes
Born and raised in Kenora, Ryan is a Northwestern Ontario guy through and through. When he’s not working, you’ll usually find him spending time with his wife Mallory, their dog Beans and bunny Bugs, hanging out with friends, or playing guitar.Ryan brings years of experience in media, marketing, communications, business development and operations, along with a background in the electrical industry. He’s worn a lot of hats over the years, which turns out to be pretty useful when you decide to buy a business.
Meet Sydney Pangilinan
Sydney is happiest when she’s creating something. Outside of Rednex, she loves spending time with her husband Christian, their daughter, and their dogs Ozzy and Scooby, and jumping between whatever creative hobby has caught her attention, usually sewing, photography or cooking. Her background spans media, marketing, communications, graphic design and photography, including running her own photography and design business. She has spent much of her career helping local businesses and organizations tell their stories, build their brands and bring creative ideas to life.
better together
Ryan and Sydney have actually been working together for a long time. They first became coworkers in local radio around 2016, where they worked together until 2021. A few years later, they found themselves on the same communications team for a large local organization.
After years of projects, deadlines, brainstorming sessions and probably way too many group chats, one thing became pretty clear: they work really well as a team.So when the opportunity came along to take Rednex Rebellion into its next chapter, becoming business partners felt like a natural next step. They each bring different strengths, ideas and experience to the table, but both have a hand in just about everything that happens at Rednex.
why they bought rednex
Rednex Rebellion has been part of Northwestern Ontario since 2002, and Ryan and Sydney saw an opportunity to give a familiar local brand a new chapter. They bought Rednex because they believe in what it already represents: local pride, lake life and the people who make this place home.
Their goal is to honour where Rednex came from while bringing some fresh ideas to the table. That means new apparel, new designs and a growing custom side of the business offering everything from branded merchandise and apparel to signage, stickers and promotional products.
Same Rebellion. New chapter. Still proudly Northwestern Ontario.
Proudly Independent & Canadian
Rednex Rebellion is proudly independent, Canadian-owned, and deeply committed to our community. When you wear Rednex, you’re not just wearing a hat or a hoodie—you’re repping a story of grit, community, and the northern wild.
Thank you for being part of the rebellion. See you on the water!
